Hey everyone,

I need someone who's car savvy to help me out !

I have a 1997 Honda Accord. Current Mileage: 175,300. I bought it for $2500 last year. All the perks inside. But, my transmission is acting up. I took it yesterday and the dude told me to get a transmission service and to start looking into getting a used transmission. It's been pretty bad for a while. But I don't know if I wanna trade it in for another car with low mileage, or just get a used transmission?

Do you have any mechanical know how? Or do you have friends who could help you swap a new transmission in? If so, then you can buy a used tranny from Craigslist or on local forums for cheap and get your car running again. If you're going to have a shop do it then it's going to be expensive...
