I just need to know if a newer (99) b16a2 will run right with an older b16 OBD 1 ecu. I want to keep wiring issues to a minimum and I guess this is the easiest way. But I want to know what wires need to be run to make it work. I was told the newer engines had knock sensors and the older ones didnt. So what new wires would need to be run, and will the OBD 1 ecu even work with the newer b16??

An older ECU will run the motor fine. It doesn't really run the motor, it controls the electronics that control the motor. So if you manage to change out the electronics that connect to the motor, or the harness that connect to the electronics you're good. In other words you have to A. convert to OBD IIb plugs, B. run a convresion harness, C. swap out the OBD IIb electronics for OBD I ones, that will plug into you harness.
