This is the Variable Geometry turbo. It changes the size of it's intake and outlet chambers and dynamics to (Give or provide) more of a (hit) when the turbo is spun.

That's about all.
 
Banks Power is beginning to use ALOT of VGT Turbos on their diesel upgrade kits... Its basically what Steve said...
