A diesel rex

I saw this on the vw vortex forums and though it was a pretty awesome swap. I'm wondering what his mileage will be, any thoughts?

What would be the point of this? Diesel is more expensive, and CRXs already last forever. Am I missing something?

My guess is to get even better fuel mileage from it while having cool project. The whole mileage part is dependent of how much higher diesel is in their area though.

Better fuel mileage would be all right....until you're driving down a long road, start running out of diesel and the next gas station you come across in Timbuktwo only has regular gas.
