my buddy has a 94-97 Accord LX and his instrument lights went out along with rear tail lights.. we checked about all the fuses and its still out.. any clues?

My first guess would have been check the fuses, did you check the fuses under the dash board and under the hood? I couldnt see any other reason why they would both go out unless there is a short in the circuit. :unsure:

Did you or him install the cd player? If you did what did you do with the illumination wire, the orange one? Well if you hooked it up it blew a fuse or two. Recheck the tail light/dash light fuse in the car. there arent any fuses to the lighting system under the hood.
