Been thinking about getting one for awhile, I found a local breader that had 2 so I got both (one is going to one of my employees for $50.00) I'm keeping only the one shown in the pics.

So far (not counting dogs/cats) this little thing even for the first day has been more fun then anything else I've had in the past. They have the cutest little feet. On top of that when you get them on their back they try oh so hard to flip back over, it reminds me of a kid trying to reach a cookie jar that is on top of the fridge, can't reach but will try oh soooo hard. =) I'll have to take some video of it to show you what Im talking about.

They sleep most of the day unless you wake them up, when you do wake them they eat, drink, eat some more, drink, eat some more.......

Even when super scared hissing and balling up if you put food in front of them they'ed eat it even while hissing and balled up they just stick their tongues out and manage to suck it in. Even in the scary car ride they'ed eat eat eat. They LOVE food.

oh and FYI they do prick the heck outta you. Even when they're being playful and not trying to harm you they still manage to stick their guills into you. (see picture of him on its back.) anytime it moves OUCH!

but its worth it =) they are by far the cutest little things I've handled from their little pig looking noses to the pointy face that licks everything in sight.

P.S as soon as my little guy is use to living here I'm going to give him a bath, after that Im going to see if I can get alittle hanky panky going with a scrubber pad.

hedgehog yup, if you go up to it and scare it bad enough it will fully ball up =)
can he roll really fast like Sonic??? my next animal(s) are going to be red bellied paranhas. Yeah, I know some chiclids(sp?) are better but I'm dead set on the red bellies. To me they are fucking awesome :)

So you purchased a rodent. congrats?

You need to man up. How the hell are you going to post "cute little feet" and shit. Damn man. You're going to have to work as a lumberjack for 6 months to make up for that shit or I'm gonna start calling you princess.

My sister in law likes to feed her hedgehog nice crunchy mealworms, then turn out the lights and listen to the carnage.

Way to spend time in school.

It's called Insectivores.

Order Insectivora is comprised of a wide variety of mammals, from the pygmy shrew to the spiny hedgehog. Insectivores are named after their tendency to eat insects, but they will also eat other invertebrates such as worms and even some vertebrates (fish, lizards, etc). Insectivores are small and rodent-like in appearance. The pygmy white-toothed shrew is the world's smallest mammal.

Insectivores are considered to be "primitive" mammals because they are missing some factors present in more "advanced" mammals like the primates. For example, they have a flat brain case and a smooth brain, compared to the curved brain case and more ridged brain of the primates. Most insectivores lack a separate opening for the genitals and anus, and instead have a cloaca, which serves as the genital, urinary, and fecal system.

Insectivores vary greatly in appearance. They typically have a long snout, as evidenced by most moles and shrews and solenodons. Some are covered in a mouse-like fur with a hairy, smooth tail, others are covered in spines and lack tails entirely. Shrews, which are the most mouse-like in appearance, can be distinguished from mice by their long snout and their lack of constantly growing incisors.

Insectivores have an excellent sense of smell and touch, but have poor senses of sight and hearing. They live in a wide variety of habitats, from streams to open meadows to deep underground. They are absent from Australia and most of South America. There are 419 species in 6 families:
