Does anyone have a pic of where the bypass valve is supposed to be installed on an AEM cold air intake for a 99 gsr? I'm reading the directions and just want to be sure. When cutting the pipe I am actually removing about an 1 1/2" from the pipe so the bypass valve fits on correct? Anyone who has done this before please help me out. Thanks

the exact length of the pipe doesnt matter as long as the valve is in the proper place, and your filter isnt obstructed or hitting anything.

this is where mine was for 96 civic with B16, shouldn't be much different.

sorry, forgot it was a cold air type. i was thinking short ram.

why would you put a bypass valve on a short-ram? :p

You want to put it as far up as possible, mine was even farther, but I didn't have a strut bar. You can cut right below it, in the AEM part, people will still know what it is :p

Filter gets submerged
Engine pulls vacuum
Bypass valve opens because it becomes the air path of least resistance

Filter gets splashed or partially submerged
Engine pulls vacuum
Bypass valve opens (sometimes, and sometimes partially)
Water gets sucked in
Boom
