Airbag Modulus

apparently there's a problem with my car's air bag modulus sensor which is connected to the horn somehow....
1. wtf is this?
2. would it be bad to get one at a junkyard used?

it's gonna be 595 to get a new one, or the store can get one from a junkyard and put it in for 250

there is no "sensors" i know of in the wheel. most of the stuff is under the carpet or in your engine bay and your "sensors" are usually on your rails.
if your mechanically inclined i would just buy a stolen one off ebay or a junkyard, and if not obviously just pay someone and go with a junkyard
