whats up peoples..i recently had to change my alternator belt..i got the right one..np..put it on..but now i get a weird wine sound when i drive and give it gas..the belt has a little play to it...

is this noise from the belt being too tight or too loose?..any help would be appreciated..
 
use some kind of lever to wedge inbetween the alternator and the block to get that thing tight. Have a freind tighten the other bolt real well when your doing that.


You may want to go to autozone and rent a belt tentioner. Much easier to get leverage but still get in there into that small area.
 
yeah its a pain in the ass tryin to get it tight on my own..the help is appreciated..
