    "IAB A17 ECU"
    "ECU pinout"
    "ECU P72 wiring"

These should both be terms I can search for but the search engine on this site has been restricted so that all words must be 4 characters or more. I have been searching for 30min trying to find an article I KNOW is here, its frustrating. Is it possible to have that restriction removed.... Other PHPBB forums don’t have that feature.

Do you know how hard it is to find pinouts if you cant search for the word ECU or the pin number or model number of the ECU.

Just a request that I think would make this site easier to use.

use the quotes just like that, and you will get results.

still gives me the same error...

"p72" will search but returns 0 results

p72 should be on this site thousands of times.

of course, "p72" won't return anything
    but
"p72 ecu error codes" or "p72 ecu pinout" will.

We use a full-text search, and thus, the limit is 4 characters. The database, mysql, doesn't support full text searching any smaller. And if it did, it would render it useless. Imagine every LETTER indexed, every 'a' 'i' 'be' 'and' and so forth. it would be impossible.

there's a help link in the search engine about how to use boolean searches. have a read on it.
