That shows you how earthquake-proof Japan is, and how freaking big the 9.0 was. A 7.4 is a gigantic earthquake in itself, and it was really just an aftershock... one that hardly fazed an already crippled infrastructure.
As far as energy released, the big one was 700 times more powerful.
Man, sucks. Makes me happy that I live in Vegas where nothing happens in terms of weather, except people freaking out about it sprinkling and calling it a flash flood.
