he's right about a few things... but off on others. at least he's put some thought into it and he's not just like "HONDAS SUCK!!!". he sounds like he knows what he's talking about to a point. but him comparing a turbo engine to a non turbo engine is retarded.

that was the dumbest site ever. Yes those statements are true in a sense but not in any sense of real honda tuning.

I love how he compares in the skip pad tests a 96 Civic HX to an Escort ZX2 Sport....

<_<

umm....

So let me get this straight.. Compare the lowest model of the civic to a 'sport' version of an escort?

And you have even similar results?

Also they put the HX against the sentra SE-R. Now theres a fair fight. This person knows jack shit.

the hours he spent making that website

the hours it gonna take for him to figure that insurance
is so much cheaper on my 91 crx 2dr coup(62$ this month i believe)
and my uncle 90 mustang gt(im not even gonna bulshit yall with a price you should know)
hes just mad cuz all his freinds left him at when they worked on their monthly affordable hondas

Who's "low tech" now?

think he felt like a man after that?

i think he bought a honda a few years ago, cause his site hasn't been updated since june of '99.

either that or his dad quit working at the gm factory.

You see the same shit on lots of other boards.

"I killed a Civic EX with my Supra TT. VTEC sucks!"

Ummmm, duh. Try comparing your Lack-Of-Traction-Mobile to something a little more on par.

holy pop-ups batman! didnt even bother reading anything

oh jeez, its owned by a flip (my peeps)

That site is old shit. It was last updated in 1999.

I would love to see some actual numbers for maintenence bills over 150,000 miles for a test group of Chevy Cavliers and a test group of Honda Civics. Take say 10 2000 Honda Civic DX's and 10 2000 Cevy Cavaliers (what ever the base model is). And keep a running total for the dealer to fix every problem that comes up in 150,000 miles. Everything from the small squeek or rattle of the interior to the spun rod bearing or blown transmission. Then compare the totals. I would bet money that even though Honda parts/labor are more expensive that the bill for maintaining the Hondas would be significantly lower.

Our neighbor has a 95 base cavy, no a/c, didnt even have a radio, has ~189K on it and has never been in the shop. Nothing major has went out. The usual maintence shit. Her bf has one and its newer z24 and has had it in the shop more than its been driving.

All I have to say is weight. The guy states that the integra is far less HP from the gas guzzling v8. But the weight makes so much difference, he didn't throw in the power to weight ratio that we all are here for.

who cares... cars are cars

Ack, if that were true, I would have bought the cheapest car I found when I was looking.

I tried to be completely neutral while I was readin his articles to see if he was talking out his ass or not.
I must admit that he didn't include a lot of information in there that you would normally see in a review, but he also made some very valid points.
I think the statements holds true for some people because I have met people before in the past that think their Honda/Acura is the single best car in the world and eventhough it only made 102hp it would beat a Trans-Am WS-6 in a 1/4 mile race.

I think the big picture some people are missing is that he was talking about "STOCK" cars and motors. Power-to-weight is a valid arguement but you can only take that so far. It doesn't matter how little that GS-R weights, a 3600 lbs Z28 will still beat it in the 1/4 mile.

The point is, read what he wrote and take from it what you will. He made some good arguements and some horrible ones. It's like reading an article in a magazine, you may not like what the author is writting but you have to respect him because he took the time to do some research and post his results/opinions.
