    I'm hooking up some RFID reader door phones at this church, and these fucking locks have me perplexed. I have no idea why they aren't working.

    From the power supply I have;

    24v + --> Normally Open power on reader
    24v - --> Normally Open door latch

    Com on reader --> Com on door latch.

    Yet when I call the front desk and she hit's the Door Unlock button, I don't get anything.

    This thing has my brain fried. It seems simple in the way i describe it, but I have to go through 2 different wires and a 66 block.

    Oh, and I've tried switching wires to the door latch between the 24v - and Com, but it still doesn't work that way either.

    I know I have it hooked up correctly to the Reader because it's marked and I installed it, but someone else installed the door latches so I had to guess on which one was Com and 24v.

    Story, Storey, means the same damn thing; Storey is chiefly used by the British.

    :)

    Edit: Thats kind of funny and ironic at the same time; Brian picking on someone's spelling? haha

    The Solenoid power should be attached to 24v-. When she shorts the circuit, the Solenoid should open.

    You people should work on a helpdesk. Seriously these are the worst responses ever.

    :lmao:

    I saved the profanity for the little bastard torx screw that wouldn't go into the bottom of the RFID reader yesterday, and wouldn't come back out today. Yeah, I broke that...

    Might be time for some tape on that one... lol

    I might have to get ahold of Quality glass and tell them to get out and check the door latches. :(

    There is no breaker. The front door works (I use the word works loosely here...) straight off an electrical outlet with a chunk of cat6 attached to it.

    i shouldn't work at a help desk. that would make me realize my 'stupid' answers aren't as stupid as the people that call.

    Fucking asshole.

    The guys who put the door locks in the doors never hooked up the fucking wire from the box above to the latch itself.

    Then we blew the 24v power supply and had to get another one.

    Then we blew the goddamn RFID reader when we hooked the 24v/com leads to pins 4 and 5.

    It Never Fucking Ends.

    But hey at least I didn't shock myself on this shit.
