First some background. I've seen just about every show about just about every type of gang. I don't know why but I have always had an interest in the topic.

So I'm watching this show about people you go undercover in gangs tonight about a Hells Angels chapter in MA. At the end of the show they say that even after all the arrests that stemmed from the investigation, the gang is now stronger than ever. That got me thinking, they said the same thing about a Mongol chapter, a Sons of Silence chapter, an Outlaws chapter, a Pagan chapter and the Phili mob when they appeared on the show. I highly doubt this fact is limited to MCs but even if it is, how do you let that happen? In Honda terms, it's like patching your rear quarters then not priming or painting them thus allowing them to rot out further. If you're going to invest in something, then make sure your investment continues to be worth it.

Is it just me or does anyone else think its a waste of time and money when you arrest all these people, then allow their organizations to regroup and get even stronger, smarter, and thus more elusive than ever?

My WTF moment of the day...

makes sense.. they should foolow through with shit, but it's likely that the judge or someone was paid in some of those instances.

Sounds good to me. But then you must also allow us to shoot them with no repercussions.

The only problems with that are that Mobs are mostly getting stronger because they are evolving from the drug dealing and territorial violence of yesteryear. Not that it isnt happening because it is still. But gangs are advancing to identity theft, computer "terrorism" (basically hacking into money outlets and jacking them,) and other things that have a greater gain to danger ratio. They arent just a bunch of muscle bound retards with weapons running around and terrorizing the streets. Thats why its gettin harder to fight them and they have less need to kill eachother off. The can co-exist while still thriving.

Word. I don't know if its still in place but just another example; All MCs in Colorado agreed to a no violence policy because (I'm paraphrasing), the violence was interfering with all the clubs being able to make the money they were capable of making.

    Well played sir.

I watch those shows whenever I can. I have seen the Mongol and Sons of Silence episodes and a few of the others as well. My thought on it is most of the biker gangs and such have moved on to more "legit" buisness. It is still shady but they can accomplish their goals without shooting a rival gang up. It is bad for everyones buisness if you have to worry about getting shot at or having to shoot someone else.

As far as the Feds not cutting the head off, well I look at it like the War on Drugs. The ATF, Fed. Marshells and FBI staff thousands of people to deal with gangs as well as drugs and firearms trafficing. Politicians make a career out of fighting drugs and gangs. And alot of them do not want to cut off a section of their platform. Not all of them, but enough of them that it makes it almost impossible. The underlying human relation factor plays a large role as well. You grow up in a busted down family and have never been shown what a normal life is you are going to fill that void with something that makes you feel safe, special, poweful on and on it goes. Gangs fill that void pretty well.

    Domestic terrorists.

Can't kill an idea (i.e., throw another catholic on the fire, halocaust, crusades, etc.) without just completely exterminating the people.

With that said, line them up and gun them down.

    My .02 cents.

even if its legal someone's still gonna try to corner the market in their territory and make tax free money.

O, god, tax evasion! That would be much worse than gang wars.

I was saying there will be territorial issues as someones still going to try to make their money off of it. I dont care about taxes. Legal or not someones still going to sell it. And maybe once they can be more open it would make things worse. But, whens the last time you heard about a huge gang war? And we're talking MCs. Did you read the rest of the post? Just wondering...

Gangs cannot operate as efficiently as legitimate business, also, clients would prefer buying from a reputable, safe place than some thug on the street. The gangs would be driven out of business, and without financial incentive, their numbers would dwindle. The reason why this approach isn't taken, is because the number of law enforcement officials and agencies would also dwindle due to the lack of their necessity. The reason these agencies take their "anti-drug" stance is not for public safety, it's for job security.
