anyone have expr. with external IDE cases?

I'm in the shopping for an external HD for use with my Craptop. Since its shitted out its harddrive 2 times in 6 months I need something to store my music on and my pr0n. I have most of my music mirrored on my home HD, but transfering is a bitch. I'd assume buying and formating a PC HD is more cost effective than buying an external HD.

I got this because it has SATA and IDE connectors. It is USB 2.0 and Firewire compatible, and with an SATA drive in it it hauls balls. However, I had an IDE drive in it before and it streamed video like a champ. Great controller card in it.

thats nice. TD has it for 66 shipped. new egg doesn't seem to carry it.
where did you get yours?

I got mine from wintec, or amax or some vendor for my company. I will look up a price on it and see what I can get it for you for shipped.

I have them for $52 plus shipping, which ground should be fairly cheap.
