anyone know the B16B tranny code?

sup everyone i'm getting a B16B for my EJ1 and i just wanted to make sure these people were giving me the tranny that is supposed to come from the factory on that engine becuz i know its a highly sought after smooth shifting machine..so does anyone know the tranny code? i looked it up and some people say S4C, Y80, or S80..which one?

you can't go by that unfortuantely.

the s4c is the civic si 99-00 so thats def out.

but theres s80's that are ls, s80s that are gsr's and s80s that are itr's.

the easiest way to tell is to look at the case.
it should be stamped "lsd" on it.

while not perfect, it woul dbe pointless for a company to switch the ctr for an itr or even a gsr with the LSD on it...

and even if they did, you're still getting a good tranny.

um, ok, but without openeing it up, coutning teeth, and figuring out the ratios, all of that is useless

there should be a black ink stand with
Civic type R ='s R4 LSD or R4D LSD
Integra type R = J4 LSD or J4D LSD

Thats how you can tell

smooth_criminal is correct. i have a b16b tranny and it does infact have a R4 LSD stamp on it. good luck!
