Looking for any recommendations or personal experiences with them.
It seems the batteries only last about 20 minutes.

I have no carpeting in my house, all hardwood or tile floors.
I've been trying to find one without the spinning brush head.

Wanna know how I know we're all getting old?

    This. This right here.

I have a red devil, but the step son loves to try to use it while not accomplishing anything, so I had to hide it.

I asked my local bank tellers where "the kid" was...
The "kid" is a 24 year old bank teller... 24...

    Fuck.

Any updates on what's good? I'm looking at these things, but they're expensive. I have a decent sized house and need it to last the majority. 1/2 hardwood 1/2 carpet. Some stairs.

I think the new Dyson has a killer run time and they get the best reviews.

I'm planning to check at my local box store this weekend, look over the features and buy one to try out.
I'm expecting to be underwhelmed. I'll probably end up with a Shark something or other.

My 2 year old loves to vacuum. He may not be the most efficient, but I don't want to discourage him from it one less thing I need to do.

My wife ended up buying the shark lift away pro when I was gone this saturday. It did awesome. Not exactly what I wanted, but she likes it and does probably 60% of the vacuuming.

Local HomeDepot flyer has the Dyson V7 on sale for 299.00
Amazon prime has it for $293.

    Tough call.
The shitty part of this is I don't need the beater bar attachment, but I have to pay extra to get the hardwood floor kit. Dafuq is that.

I've used the carpet attachment on my hardwood floors.

My biggest problem with Dyson is their pretentious commercials. Dude, you make vacuums.

I have hardwood (read: vinyl) throughout. Sweep then mop.

Buy the V8 (or V10 if needed) from COSTCO. It's amazing. There is nothing left to discuss. It's the best thing in the universe. I have a 1900 square foot house and can vacuum the whole house and have enough battery to vacuum cat hair out of all the furniture.
