    Anyone? Online collaboration ideas?

Anyone on here know a good way to collaborate online? I am working on a group project for an online class in which we have to write a paper or do a presentation about a specific topic. It's a critical thinking class and basically we have to explore all the different sides of this topic. We have 5 or 6 people in the group and are trying to work through WebCT, which sucks to say the least. Other than a chat room, i really can't think of any ways in which we can all talk online at once, or atleast something where we can be online working together. Got any ideas?

He already mentioned in the first post he was looking for something other than a chat room.

I know you can add multiple people into a conversation on at least one of those messaging programs.. I think it was yahoo messenger I used to do it on. But the others probably can as well, you just have to invite people into it I believe.

At my work we use Lotus Sametime, but that's a behemoth that requires pretty good corporate infrastructure.

Yea i'm working on getting Messenger installed, i'm having to go back to older versions to see if they will work on vista. I used to use Yahoo, but most people have either AIM or messenger now, and i hate aol crap, so i stay away from aim. I might try getting Pidgin in a few minutes to see if that allows it. i used to have it when it was GAIM and it was nice.

Google Documents/Office/whateverit'scalled. I haven't used it yet, but you're supposed to be able to have multiple people editing a document at the same time and see changes real-time.

on aim you can create a chatroom specific for just the people you want...you can invite them into the conversation...whats wrong with that? but messenger can do the same thing...so whatever floats your boat...
