    we were talking about this in the office today. it either broke or was installed wrong. either way, it can't be good for the car.

    Yeah, it's supposed to clamp and hold. I wonder if they just managed to break it with the torque from the engine? Some of those station wagons are nothing to sneeze at. I'd kill for an a6 wagon.
