I was wondering if you was to convert a Auto to a stick shift, will it still pass smog? Cuz i was thinking about converting my 96 civic to a stick but i dont know if it will pass smog...thanks

yes, you can convert, and it will pass smog, but you need a manual ecu etc etc

Trans, possibly the mount, ECU, master and slave cylinder and pedal set IIRC.

how much u think it would all add up if i buy the parts and put it myself or let a friend do it...cuz i got a d16y7 i think...but if u want it to be a vtec...do you gotta buy a whole new motor or just the head?

vtec and the trans have nothing to do with each other.
To make it vtec... >$500
D16z6's are cheap..so you can just buy the whole motor...to do a mini-me, slightly cheaper.
To do the Auto>Man conversion >$500

I don't know eveyrthing about D-series or if they made the z6 after 95 but just get one that was made in or after 1996 or it will fail.
