Well, to start of I got a 1993 Civic Hatchback DX. I got it from my neighbor for free and it only has 115k miles on it so im keeping it. It's automatic and I would like to switch to a manual, so my question is what would be the cost of a conversion like that? I read on some forums and the prices go from $1500 to $100. So what would be the actual price? Thanks!

Sell the auto and buy a manual, and search google and the forums for the ridiculous price attached with your request

seriously, if you got it for free, either sell it or just be happy with a free honda. think about it, unless you can do the work, it will cost about $1500-$2000. if you sell the car for $2500, and put $2000 on top, you can get a kick ass little honda

I posted it on craigslist for 1500 and there was a lot of ppl that were interested. But I doubt i can get $2500 for it, there is a bit of rust, and the paint is fading away. + I just found out the radiator is leaking majorly. Well anyways, thanks a lot for the help!

You can always just keep it and clean it up and repair the radiator. After that, you'll be able to sell it for more, or you can just enjoy driving it and spend some time learning and researching on how to do the swap yourself. You could also do some suspension mods in the mean-time...

Im a bit confused, I don't know if it's worth putting money in to. The interior is clean (Took like 3 hours to clean, the owner before me had a dog.), but the outside, not so much. I already got a new battery for it, soo.. Here is a picture, ill let you judge yourself.

thats not bad at all
a little tlc and that thing would look pretty

1. rims, fix cancer, paint
2. any mechanical work
3. ...
4. car!

It doesn't look that bad to me. I'd say give it a good wash and wax, and maybe scour Craigslist or local forums to see what people are selling for it. A set of alloys and maybe some gently used lowering springs and shocks would make it a fun dd for you. You can always upgrade the stereo too.

Just some thoughts...

is this your first car? do you just need a decent commuter?

i say keep it and drive it into the ground. i wouldn't touch a thing on it other than maintenance. it will go another 100k miles. save your money and when it dies, part it out and get a new car.

that hatch looks like it has a lot of potential, little body work and nice paint job will make her look sexier, but if u want to change it to manual it cost about 965 roughly, i did it to my coupe.....but i regret wasting that much money i could of just bought a shell and called it a day....good luck if u decide to go threw with it

The good thing about the rust is, since it's a unibody, whether it was just surface, or it has eaten all the way through the repair is the same.
