Planning on going with the wife tomorrow to see it. I'm really not a big Sci-fi fan, but I've heard it's actually pretty cool, and there's an IMAX about 15 minutes down the road so wtf.

Just curious if anyone has seen it?

I went and saw it in 3D last weekend. I really liked it and would go and see it again.

If you are expecting shit to fly out at you in the 3D version and you actually like that then you are going to be disappointed. The 3D is used like good lighting and cinematography. There is nothing that comes out at your face to make a point that it is 3D.

Yeah I don't really have any expectations whatsoever. I did hear someone on the radio yesterday that said the IMAX 3D makes it seem like shit is coming right at you so we shall see.

Pretty much everything I've heard is that it's worth the price of admission even if you're not into all the tech stuff.

i liked it. quite the experience. the 3D was used to make you feel like you were right there, hiding in the bushes watching the whole thing. there weren't really any flinch/duck reactions i can recall. but i know that walking out of the theater afterwards felt dull, and "flat."

    go enjoy it! :)

It is, however, a visual masterpiece. I should have smoked before watching it.

That's another thing I heard. Then again, every movie has an underlying message of some sort. I just want to be entertained, I could care less about the political agenda of J.C., and will ignore it.

Dom's gf from FF is in the movie. She's a heli pilot. I was waiting for some nawz action.

The story was fairly interesting but he visuals were the big draw for me. I wish I had seen it in IMAX. Ill probably see it again in theatres. I went to in Columbus but it was sold out a week after it came out.

All in all I'd give it a solid B/B+. Story was ok, the visuals were amazing.

Of course it has messages in it. 98% of Hollywood is out of their mind Left wing. I mean we have Woopie Goldberg talking about "rape, rape" and exusing a chimo because he is from Europe. It was still a damn fine movie and the visuals alone should make it worth watching. It is possible that Avatar is this generations Star Wars.

I'm going to see it tonight. I'm really expecting it to be the cliche storyline that is every movie, but I can't really complain since its free movie + free concessions. And recked, your imax isn't 3D? Because any projection system that is digital can project a 3D image. Film projectors cannot. They make 2D versions of 3D films for film projection theaters.
