Do axels need to be replaced in a swap from a manual transmission to an automatic transmission?

We didn't have to in an EK that we converted to a 5-Speed, but i'm not too sure about other years/models.

Is it a B series or D series motor. B series auto and manual are different.

And the axles aren't different on ABS, they have a ring outer joint, other than that they are the same length/splines.

Well I'm going to swap from a d-series to a b16a2 with a manual transmission instead of an automatic
