Does the usdm automatic p28 ecu (that controls the d16z6 w m24a auto trans) control anything in the automatic transmission other than the torque converter lock up?

Does the jdm auto p30 ecu (that controls the b16a w m24a auto trans in japan) control anything in the auto trans other than TC lock up?

I am starting to think that a b16a/b18c mated up to the b16's m24a automatic transmission along with a chipped p28 would work, but I am trying to get more info or intel on the situation before jumping in to this. Does this sound like it would work? Im not concerned about the mounts and axles because I can get that to work, I am just concerted about the ecu. Will a chipped automatic p28 (d16z6/m24a) ecu with a p30/p72(b16a/b18c) basemap correctly control a b16a/b18c with m24a auto trans?
