since when are hondas problematic?

have you ever talked to people who drive VW's? those are problematic and expensive as hell to fix, Honda parts are a dime a dozen
 
Rover also used Honda B series vtec in some of their cars also, not to mention the millions all over the world from 89-2001, so I wouldn't worry too much about it becoming extinct.
 
I work on new aircraft that use WWII era engines. Some of which havn't been in production since the late fifties and they are still available. Some of the parts we buy for them are even new old stock. Dont worry as long someone is interested parts will be made.
