Hi All,
We have a 93 Civic fitted with a B16a2 engine.
We're looking into replacing the bottom end for that of a B20, and keeping the B16a head.
Does anyone know what will be required for this hybrid?
1/ Will the B16a gearbox fit?
2/ Will we need hybrid engine mounts for the EG chassis?
3/ Will the B16 head bolt straight on and run ok with the P30 ecu?

Many thanks y'all

1. yes the gear box will fit, it's b to b. if you're planning on turbo, go with the USDM GSR or JDM SiR-G. with all motor, S4 is ok.
2. stock mounts work ok.
3. the bolts are a little shorter, get ARP head studs. the P30 needs to be chipped for your application in order to funtion well. i suggest hondata for .

I am going to say what Pills, says, get a P28 with Hondata.........

Be careful with the S4 gearbox with a more tq'y motor since the actual differential is smaller than all 1.8 differentials in B series tranny's. Have heard of them busting.

You can use stock mounts, but try to upgrade them or insert some motor mount inserts. I have had them bust before and i was only running a 1.6
