Ok i've run into a few problems. It seems my piston rings on cylinders 3 and 4 are pretty much toasted. I have no scaring on the cylinder walls. Im only boosting around 8-9 psi (that is still cutting it close i know). What would you guy's recommend doing in this situation. I dont want to completely rebuild it cause i dont want to boost any higher. I just want those boost levels to be safer. I was thinking on new oem pistons and rings with a cooper head gasket to lower compression just a bit. I have posted this on the engine building page. But i wanted to hear what the turbo techs have to say. Im open to any advice.
My fuel management is
vortec 12:1 fmu
440cc injectors
walbro 255 fuel pump
aem fuel rail,regulator, and filter

getting the new rings, pistons, and head gasket should work. i would still keep it at around 8-9psi.

the fmu is your problem... you can't/shouldn't be running 440s on an fmu.

get a vafc, run the "hack" and throw out the fmu

OK thanks for the advice ill start the rebuild after christmas. Run the "hack" and throw out the fmu. Thanks.... Ill keep the progress posted
