How do you get the speedometer cable to stay in the little plug in thingy with the clip on the back of the tranny? also wtf do i do with the 2 vac hoses coming out of this contraption?

Push it in more and put the clip on. About the 2 vacuum hoses....i believe that connects to the IAC behind your intake manifold. I dont know if its the vacuum hose your talkin about but i'm assuming it is. Correct me if i'm wrong.

The two hoses are for the power steering.
Tells the power steering your speed so it can adjust.

If you dont have power steering, take a 6" vacuum
line and plug one end on one fitting and the other
end on the other fitting. Acts as a plug.

Check the top of the speedo housing and see if it is
broken off. There should be a keeper slot in the top
of the connector , a keeper spring retains the speedometer
cable in that slot.
Lots of times they are broken (at the slot) on swap motors.
I just had to replace one.
