there are 3 coolant temp sensors on the engine - one is on the back of the block next to the oil filter and controls the operation of the cooling fan - the second is on the end of the head below the distributor and is the sensor that operates the temp gauge - it has a one-wire connector with yellow/green wire - the third is also on the end of the head and sends coolant temp to the ECU (not working or not connected will throw CEL with code 6) - it has a 2-wire connector with red/white and green/white wires
