b16 jumped time again, throws a code 4 now

my b16a jumped time again. for no apparent reason. i tore everything down, and got everything timed back up and it ran perfect. but then it threw a code 4 and started running like crap. also there is a squeak noise coming from the dist. i know a code 4 is a crank angle sensor code and that it has something to do with the distributor, but i need to know how to test this, and make sure that its the dist. that needs replacing. also, if anyone has any ideas on why my car jumps time like every 6 months, any help is appreciated. thanks.

If your dizzy is bad and your throwing code 4.... Why do you think it's throwing the timing around like a retarded pig! the dizzy controls ignition timing, or at least a part of it. Replace the dizzy and get a new sensor. It's a easy as that.
