How can I get more torque out of a b16.Can I get a b16 to run like a gsr.
Not much other than Turbo, but the engine is too small to get large amounts of torque. Engine is more top end HP, rather than torque, just sacrifice off the line for higher end power. I have seen a Del Sol with a B16 running 10's, with only 180WHP.
Really, 10's! with only 180whp? your car must weigh 100lbs....
 :ufucktard: i am going to have to call bs
maybe if it was dropped out of a plane, from 1320 feet up...
There is no way with 180whp unless the car weighed in at 700 ish pounds.
You want more tq than go with a larger bore motor.
Or make your motor a larger bore.
I have a copy of HCI from a month or two ago that has a 200whp B16 buildup in it. 202whp and like 150 tq. They used 12.5 cr pistons with stage 3 crane cams and the twm-or-whatever-it-is manifold. It can be done.
My bad, I am an idiot, it had 180lbs of torque to the wheel. OOPS!!
put a GSR block on your bottom end. that should make some more torque. bore out a GSR block....
can somebody send me a list of the parts u need to build the b20 vtec
Raise the compression with new pistons.
you have to do more then just put higher compression pistons in there. If you go the NA route, one way is to "stroke" the engine. You put a diffrent crank, rods, pistons in there, and you get like 1.7-1.8 liters. Jun and toda sells a stroker kit but both are 2500ish.
search.....basically the same as LS/VTEC slightly different
-raise the compression and/or bore it out if you want to stay NA
-Swap the block out for a GSR, LS, or B20 block....
but to really gain torque on a 1.6L....no other way but TURBO.
save some $$ for a greedy turbo kit....
