    I have a 97 civic HB CX stock (B16Y7) is a 8 the next up and if soo is it Vtec?

    He's asking if his CX has vtec, and the answer is no, unless someone swappe the motor.

    d16y7 = base model, no vtec
    d16y8 = EX model, with vtec.

    next step? i guess you could say that... but its really not worth the time. if you're going to swap, go to a b-series
