b16 swap

Hi I'm having trouble with my 97 civic. I got the car for free but it wasn't running. Purchased a stock b16 ex motor. put it in but it won't start. I'm guessing it is the wiring. Can anybody help? I'm new to swaping engines. This is my first swap.

ummmm, first, b16's don't come in an ex. that may be part of your problem. what year is the motor from? what model is your civic? what is it doing when you try and start it. you need a lot more information if you want help.

Oh sorry it is a 94 d16 and my car is 97 civic coupe ex

you are going from obd-2 to obd-1. i'm not sure if there is any conversion that you need. check all your grounds, vacuum lines, and plugs. check your battery to.

yes going from obd1 to 2 battery is brand new.
