B16 To B18

Hi Guys my friend is building a b16 Turbo and and bought a built block for the project and has a left over stock block with a b18 crank and he wants to sell it.

Ok the whole long and short of the story is that can a b18 crank and rods work in a b16 block with out any modifications to the block?

The b16 block sits about 6mm shorter than the b18 block. You can fit the b18 crank, but to prevent disaster you will have to get custom rods built.
