I have a b16a in a 94 hatch and when I got to start it it starts fine
Then after letting it runn for a while check engine light goes on the car gets louder then when I drive it it back fires around 4,500 rpm and after a while the exuahst starts to smell like a rotten any ideas.
new to the Honda scene and to the group thanks in advance

^ what he said, generally speaking when most people go to diagnose a car and the CEL is on , they see what code the CEL is throwing , we have this thing called OBD and it stands for On Board Diagnostic

Sounds like limp mode because of code being thrown.

Get on it! All you need is a paper clip or piece of electrical wire and jump the service connector (between glove box and kick panel) then key to on position so you can read/count the flashes. There's good threads already detailing the process. It's pretty easy.
