Alright, so im kind of new to this site so take it easy. I have recently bought a 1992 JDM Honda Del Sol and its a beauty, but i'm starting to run into some minor troubles. For one, my engine light continues to turn on after i hit vtec. I was told it was my O2 sensor which i replaced and still face the same problems. I am also starting to hear a squeak coming from the engine around 2-3000 rpm's but it stops when i engage the clutch. I'm not mechanic but im guessing its a belt of some sort. If You can hit me with some adivce it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried actually figuring out what the error code is? Just telling us that the CEL is on isn't going to get you anywhere. Take the car to AutoZone and have them plug in their diagnostic tool and tell you what the light actually means, then we can help you...

I don't think that will be possible, being its a 92 jdm del sol.

To tell you the truth i have tried taking it to a mechanic, and he knew exactly as much as i did about the car. But roughly where abouts would i find the diagnostics plug in

Does that mean it's incapable of having codes read? The car should be OBD1, correct?

Yes, it is actually impossible to read the codes from a jdm ecu. :)

I have read in other threads that you can find a blue plug under the dash which can be used to read the ecu. true?

There is no diagnostic port on obd1 del sol's, therefore no scanner can just be "plugged in". Also, the ecu's arent the same as the usdm del sol ecu's.

If the vehicle is obd2, yes. Obd1, no.

You better find someone who speaks Japanese and call a Honda dealership in Japan. :)

Seriously though, keep searching. Without knowing the code or being there in person, I cannot really pin point the cause/s. Good luck though....

So is this a true Japanese Del Sol? Like CR-X stickers, left hand drive, power roof, all that good stuff?
