Hi people.

I currently have a fight in my head.

My right part of the brain is saying put the CTR pistons.
The left one its not. lol

What should i do?

I have an Honda Civic Coupe 1997 (EJ8) that had a D16Y8.

I've already buyed the following stuff for the Swap:

- B16A2 Motor from a 2000 ek4

- Gearbox Y21 (vti 92-95) this one its shorter i think.

- Tranny mounts

- I am missing the motor mounts i think... i only need the rear mount

- I've buyed PCT Piston KIT 81mm (EK9) on ebay. See the link bellow
- eBay Motors: JDM B16B Civic Type R Integra Pistons Rings Bearings (item 180283293692 end time Sep-05-08 12:05:30 PDT)

- I have an ITR flywheel (its 3kg less than vti)

- I have DC-Sports 4-1

- I have ITR motor Oil pump

- I have ITR dual springs

- I have OBD2 to obd1 conversion cables

- i Have a modded P30

- I have a fuel pressure regulated to 3 Bar and the Chip its already calibrated for it

I pretty much have everything. Even the chip its already from a friend that had this setup.

But... im a daily driver. I dont Drag or do streetrace.
I just have some fun when comming back from my girls house.

But im building a reliable stuff. Please help me. Should i go with this setup? Or should i just do the same setup but with stock pistons?

Im not making above 8500rpm. Also my friends are saying that the motor should only die if push it too much for a big period of time in 5th gear.

Anyway.. i just want a reliable stuff my D serie was for 7 years. Can this be realible setup?

What precautions to take?

Thanks a lot

if u want it as reliable as possible, then keep it stock honda motors are always reliable stock.

youll be fine with the ctr pistons and a street tune

yup no prob with the extra compression, you would still be good with 91 octane also
and remember CTR pistons are stock so the reliable factor is still there
