B16B on 93 EG Si...

    Hi there,

    I might doing B16B (civic Type-R) swap into my 93 civic Hb si, but I was wondering how come I cant find any information about this swap in this forum?
    Can any body tell me pros and cons about this swap?

    O and then I got the price for B16B for $3800 CAD, what you think?

    Is it also direct bolt on as a B18C, because my civic has VTEC already?

    And what about B18c-Spec R on my car? Is it direct bolt on also?

    I found the information on swap articles about B18C but not for the B18C-R

    Yesh too much money for the mild power over a B16A in my opinion.

    Should be an easy swap as far as bolts go. Wires, well, a B16B is OBD2, so your going to have to do some wiring; your car should be OBD1 unless you've modifed it.

    You won't generally find info because not many people do this swap. Most people go turbo or build up a gsr or si motor, as far as B-series go. Much cheaper.

    Hmm... yeah thats why i couldnt find a lot of information about this swap.

    Because i just have that kind of nature habit that i want to be different than others.

    B16A, B18C, K20, ETC2 is too common, i want to do something different.

    There are threads about this already, its not as common b/c its alot of money for only 1.6L. All B-series swap over pretty much the same into an EG.

    What are you using this car for? just DD or something more?

    K20a swaps arent nearly as common as B18c swaps because of the high cost.

    If you want to do something different then a B18C or B16a, try an H2B, B20VTEC or K-series, more displacement is always a good thing. Just my 2cents.

    Thought about K20 before, but the cost is the biggest problem!!!

    But anyway I might get a B18C-R then, is it direct bolt on?
