I have a b18a1 that im looking into turning into ls/vtec in about 6 months here.. I was wondering what modifications I can do to it in the meantime to increase its h/p and also.. how much power can be attained with just a regular b18 built up without ls/vtec or turbo? out of curiosity.

In the meantime? Add an exhaust system maybe...

You could swap out your pistons to B16 units to gain some compression, but that would require you to remove the head, and you might as well take it apart only once. Most anything else you do will be in the head itself, so you should wait.

I guess you could also add an aftermarket intake and a header, but I'm not 100% sure that the headers are interchangeable between VTEC and non-VTEC heads.

They are. I am running the DC Sports header for the 93 LS on with my B16 head.

DC Sports 4-1 header for LS can be used w/ B16 head on LS block also.

    Ok, that's what I thought. I wasn't 100% sure. Brain's been a mess today... too busy.
