Oh yea background bought hte civic as a daily driver. just want a little more passing power.

I will not be doing the swap my self it will go to a shop for all that fun stuff. I don't like to get my hands dirty anymore. I just to have all my ducks in a row with what i need to purchase. If some one can get me a complete list of all parts that is legit for this swap i will paypal them 5.00 bucks.

If a shop is going to do the swap, just have them get everything you need. If you want to get it all yourself, than I suggest using the search option and start looking. The information is out there, you need to find it. No spoon-feeding here, sorry. :)

I used the search function here last night when I registered. But to no avail I could;nt find a topic on exactly what i was looking for. As far as spoon feeding goes, the main reason I want the information is so that i know what I'm getting into and the shop does not charge me for the obligatory blinker fluid and ka-nu-der valves. I also offered to pay the person who came up with the information for me, so i don't see that as spoon feeding.

    Thanks anyhow.

Honestly I'm not sure I'd even bother with this swap, it's not going to be that much faster. The automatic LS transmission is probably one of the worst Honda trannys out there from a performance perspective. You'll get decent mileage still, but your acceleration won't be much better than it is with the D-series motor and tranny you already have.

Here's a suggestion...instead of compromising YOUR project to suit someone else, offer to teach your wife to drive a stick shift. If she's unwilling, then too bad. It's your project car, not hers. I hate seeing threads like this...

"Yo, I wants to swap a turbo H22 in mah Civic, but I gots to keep dat shit automatic so my girlfriend, cousin, mom, and grandma can all drive it! Somebody give me some info yo!!!!!!!1111"

It's YOUR project car, not your wife's. If she's not willing to learn how to drive a stick, then too bad, she doesn't get to drive it. Don't compromise on something like this, especially when you're going to be spending thousands of dollars to swap a motor into it...

This is not going to be a "Project car" It will be daily driven, non gas guzzler, with plenty of room for anything i need to throw in there.

As far as asking my wife to learn to drive stick, I've tried it's ugly. This is not my only car. Just something to get me from A to B on a daily basis.

If i listened to everyones opinion on message boards all the time my head would explode. I'm not building to this car to gain any popularity here or on the internet so saying that the swap is "not worth it" has no meaning to me.

I understand putting the motor in the chassis as this is not my first rodeo( however i've only ever worked on 5 or 6 speed cars, so i guess this is my first rodeo). I guess I should have been more specific with my questions.

Will all of the items attached to my current auto transmission ie: kick down cable, actual shift lever assembly and connections to the transmission, wiring etc. Work with the LS transmission?

Is there a different transmission mount for the automatics that i need to know about between D and B?

Meh, I'd still say an automatic LS swap isn't worth the effort. I only tell you this because I have an automatic LS, and I personally know what a slow turd the transmission is.

I'd either throw a nice intake on to your current motor, or swap in the EX motor and transmission. That way, the swap is easier (don't have to mess with axles, mounts, etc.) and you get VTEC, almost as much horsepower as the LS, and a shorter-geared transmission.

Remember that power output isn't everything. Transmission gear ratios need to be considered as well when you're talking about acceleration.

Plus, the D16Y8 is gonna be a lot cheaper...

Just my .02...good luck with it...

It did, and the GS-R also, but never here in the states. You'd have to buy a swap from an engine importer. They're not horribly hard to find actually, I've seen automatic B16s and B18Cs on eBay and several engine importer sites.
