b18c intercooler question

the b18c has a compression ratio of 10.1:1 so that means i would it wouldnt need a high psi turbo, so do i really need a intercooler

Heat is one of the biggest enemies to an engine. When you compress air, it heats up. The intercooler helps lower intake temps to reduce detonation and increase power. To answer your question, for a mild setup, say < 240ish whp, I would say you are OK without it.
