Hey. I have searched around on this forum looking for a topic matching mine but I could not find one. I am interested in putting a b18c1 into my 98 Civic HX. My questions are: 1. What is the difficulty involved? 2. What are the extra parts needed in this particular swap? 3. Does anyone have a step by step guide for the transplant? 4. What were your results from this swap and the overall drivability?

Thanks for your help,
Sage

1. The difficulty of this swap is rather low. It is a simple swap. It is nearly the same size as a B16 that came in that specific chasis in 1999-2000 in the SI Coupe.

2.You will need basic things that should come with a swap
  • Engine B18C1 (OBD-2 GSR Engine will make things very easy)
  • Tranny
  • Wiring harness if you dont feel like modifying yours
  • And a GSR OBD-2 ECU
3. Dont have step by step guide

4. As far as drivability:
  • If done right, it will run very smoothly
  • It's a OEM honda engine, enough said

if you didnt get it with the engine expect to pay $750+
if you get a full swap it will have everything with it

The little things usually hold up a swap when installation is in process.. Mounts, brackets etc.. Note: you will need a 99-00 SI driver side bracket, 99-00 SI back bracket, integra lower tranny bracket, integra shift linkage, integra upper radiator hose.. just to name a few. So plan for all there misc parts...
