Why is it so necessary to replace the oil pump and water pump with ITR ones?

i'm not quite sure what you mean by "proper flow"?

I was under the impression that since the b20 blocks have a larger disp. they wouldn't need to be revved as high as an LS/Vtec would to make the same power.

For example if you kept the revs under 7000-7500 or so?

ok thanks. Is the b20b's 8.8 CR too low for b20/vtec? would the piston have to be replaced?

The b20z's CR is like 9.6:1 so it should be better, but its also more expensive then the b20b so i wanna know if a stock b20b bottom end /w stock pistons is a good contender for a b20/vtec? (rod bolts aside)

do you think that milling the head would cause clearence issues?

with higher compression, say 10.5-11:1 and higher rpms ~8000 (or when ever it stops making power), do I run a risk of cracking the cylinder sleeves or is that just a b20 myth?

Also I know I've already discussed oil/water pump issues with you (Blanco), but I wanted to know if I can install them now and then later add the Vtec head or do they have to be installed at the same time as the vtec head?.
