I would like to know different opinions on what do you think would be faster a B16A or B20B/Z in the same civic chasis with basic mods like C.A.I. headers and exhaust, 1/4mile wise and highway wise? B20 would most likely have a GSR tranny.

hmm. best way to tell 1320 times is to go test the car yourself, there are way too many variables affecting timeslips.

The gearing of the motor is critical, obvisously the SiR gearing is more optimal over the GSR gearing, top end the b16 produces better figures in terms of hp BUT it's a torqueless motor, it's a tough call. I can see a B20z with a GSR tranny getting decent numbers. Have you considering a GSR swap?

the b16 will put more hp.
the b20 will put more torque.

b16 tranny is shorter than a gsr

with minor work to the b20, you will eat b16's. up the compression, port the ehad, get some stage 3 cams and valve train to hold it, and put 160+ whp out to the wheels.

do the same to the b16, and you will probably put the same hp out, but still, less torque.

i say b20
