I am totally new to Honda's. I purchased a 2000 Honda Civic Si that already had a B20Vtec swap. I am building it to remain normally aspirated. Here are some of the things I am having done:
11:1 pistons (picture provided)
bore: 84.5 mm
Skunk II intake
68mm T/B (Port match to intake)
440 injectors
GSR Head (Ported)
High performanc Springs, keepers, etc.
Balanced & Blue printed motor
Tri-Y header
2.5 exhaust with free flowing muffler
GSR ECU w/Chrome Management
My question is with the cams. It had Type-R cams in it, but they were no longer usable. The rebuilder wants to use Web cams that will be built specificly for the exact application to the ingine the the add-ons above. It is more important for me to keep torque. I live in the mountains and I need the torque for the hills. I have seen the lift and duration numbers for the stock Type-R cams. How much more lift and duration should be added to give it more power to match the ingine w/o loosing low and mid range. Sorry for the long winded thread. Wanted to give complete information.
Thanks
