Funny, I would expect somebody with your claimed knowledge to know that the word "Madrasa" (you spelled it wrong BTW, just like the chain mails).

You of all people should know that arabic words can be spelled in a myriad of different ways and are still considered correct (hummus, homos, humus, etc.)

Well, first off he understands technology. He also intends to appoint a CTO to the cabinet... something we've needed since, oh... the Chinese started poking around our military and government servers. Or aren't you aware that's been happening?

He supports net neutrality. Read it. Understand what it means.

Obama also supports science and scientific research... not to mention he accepts evolutionary biology and thinks teaching creationism/ID in the classroom is a no-no. Much better than everyone's favorite girl who believes that dinosaurs and man coexisted. Did you look at the "three million dollar overhead projector" McCain tried to use against Obama? Overhead projector... yeah, and the Thrust SSC is a "car".

What else... oh yeah, he is calm and composed. I don't want a leader who has to drop everything for a crisis. Gotta suspend my campaign, big things a happenin over here. I'm quite certain Putin and Amannie will play in the sand and snow while you sort out the next big issue in America, McCain.

That's a few of the reasons.

Now, your turn.

Terrorists? Who, precisely? Ayers? Didn't know Obama was part of the Weathermen... they must take 'em in young. Obama was eight when that took place. Ayers is now a distinguished professor, one which over three thousand educators and professors backed in the face of McCain's smears.

Shaking hands with terrorists...

Wow, lookie that... Saddam Hussein shaking hands with Donald Rumsfeld... Bush's first Secretary of Defense. Whoa. Mind blowing, isn't it?.

You like so many people vote based on the micro of things that are important to you and your life. Science and technology are very important to you so you will be more inclined to side with the candidate with the most favorable position concerning these. We all do it. We should however think on a macro level and vote based on consequence and connectivity. No action comes without reaction. I saw a guy the other day carrying a plumbers for Obama sign, most likely due to Obama's more favorable stance on labor unions. I doubt this guy thought for a second about what will happen if Obama's economic policies slow industrial growth. Won't be getting any major plumbing contracts then will he? These are not inevitables, just understand my point. Too many people look at the small picture.

ohhh and if your so smart, smart guy then why are you supporting obama?
lol
the mother fucker shakes hands with terrorists.
hes even got the middle name of hussain!

Shut the fuck up and leave. You make conservatives look bad.

1)Democrats responsible for the economy. I have heard it before, had it explained multiple times and always have the same answer. Are you fucking serious? Clinton had a surplus. In business terms, that is profit. Businesses that create profit succeed. The Government however is the only business that can run a trillion dollars in the hole and still move forward. Any other business, the banks would have foreclosed.

The major reason I'm voting for Obama/Biden is tax-cuts. Everyone cuts taxes. But there is still a way to do it right.

It's not that simple. If your making 500 million you can survive paying more taxes.

It's the middle class that can barely afford to get by anymore that will benefit.

Upper class will maintain their way of life. Lower and middle class will improve. It's the greater good.

Most super rich did not "earn" the money themselves. Daddy gave it to them. If GW had to earn his wealth he'd be holding a sign in downtown Dallas next to his box.

I'm disappointed in you. For the record I think our current tax system is already socialistic. I believe in personal responsibility and effort dictating outcomes. What you are advocating is moving dangerously close to Socialism. It isn't quite there, but the closer we come to it, the harder it will be to turn around. Government never cuts funding or programs. Work for what you have and keep it. If you have nothing you don't deserve to get anything from people who do, no matter how much they can afford it. Charitable giving is different. But no one is entitled to anything and the rich do not owe shit to the poor. Should they help them; of course. Call it Christianity, responsibility, or whatever you want.

As far as most super wealthy not earning their money, that is a nice myth perpetuated by the always whining always down trodden middle class suckers. This is said out of jealousy and a fundamental lack of understanding of the word "earn". There are very few inheritance billionaires and only a handful of inheritance millionaires. Money earns money in an exponential manner. People who have more money tend to have better contacts and connections and maintain better relationships with wealthy and educated people. They have the best information and compound interest working for them. They are smart. The ignorant people are the ones who go to work every day of their lives. Read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad". It will give you some great insight into this phenomenon as well as many other sweet little pieces of info...

Do we have a choking on a pretzel and hitting it's head off a coffee table smiley? Yeah, you all forgot about that.

Fuck Ronald Reagan. Fuckin bastard is the reason my whole family is under the poverty level. "Mr. They won't settle on less health care and no job security? well then shut their asses down!!" Killed all our plants, shipped them away cause we wouldn't sign a contract that killed their benefits. Wish they woulda set him right in the middle of Lowellville when they shut our plants down. He wouldn't have made it for 10 min alive. thrown him in the river.

As far as John McCain goes, I honestly can't see him being anything other than Ronald Reagan Jr. It's pretty sad when you'd rather have OJ Simpson come through your county than a presidential candidate. He spoke at a local school today and i would have rather gone to mcdonalds than gone and watched him speak about things he doesn't even know happened in the Mahoning Valley.

I'm sorry for the rambling of local BS, but it really gets to me to see an entire town that was killed by the republican party everyday. I think it's at least time to try something else. I know steel will never come back, but we need better jobs, and less poverty.

As far as spreading the wealth goes, people who are against it are simply saying they're trying to burn the bridge between wealth and poverty. I think people who make 75K/year can afford to spare a little more cash than someone who makes 11K/ year.

Your lazy ignorant family are the only ones responsible for being under the poverty line. They placed their entire lives stake in one job with a mismanaged automotive or steel company and haven't picked up the pieces in the last 20+ years? It's their own fucking fault. I'm sick of hearing broke ass people blaming everyone else. You are fucking retarded and have no idea how the world works. Have fun being a piece of shit for the rest of your life. Stop blaming everyone else and fix yourself. Fuck you, you lazy piece of shit. You aren't the backbone of our country, you are the taint.

McCain can swallow a wad of cum for voting with Bush 90 percent of the time i cant believe people are voting for some one that is going to be EXACTLY LIKE BUSH.... thats the last thing we need

You can swallow a load of cum for being so fucking ignorant. You are just like the guy who isn't voting for Obama because his middle name is Hussein. Fucktard.

Stand up. Right now. Look at everything around you, and I mean EVERYTHING. Now say "Thank you science and technology for these wonderful gifts."

Science and technology bring you the computer you are reading this with. They bring you the internet through which that data is sent, not to mention the protocols, the infrastructure, the machines used to install this infrastructure and maintain it. They bring you the car you drive, the radio you listen to, the little plastic cards in your back pocket that magically let you buy things. Science and technology are responsible for the flu shot you are going to get in a few days and the devices used to treat everything from the common cold to cancer. The weapons, armor and vehicles our men and women in uniform use every single day are brought to them thanks to our scientific knowledge. The food we eat and the water we drink are brought to us by our technological advancements.

Science and technology are the keystone of every single thing around us. Science and technology are the reason our civilization exists. If you need further convincing, just imagine for a minute what would happen if our power grid were to just stop working altogether and not come back.

I want a president who understands this, who embraces this, who will not put their 2000 year old bronze age dogmatic beliefs before that which has given us every single thing that makes our lives livable.

Sarah Palin stood before a crowd and announced that she would work towards increased research into autism, yet criticizes research projects because they deal with seemingly trivial things such as fruit flies (she singled them out). Funny thing seeing that fruit flies have given us a wealth of knowledge about autism, what causes it, and potential cures. I cannot, with any sound mind, cast a vote for somebody who does not understand things like this... these are the gears and cogs that push us as a species foward.

I agree completely. My point was not that science and technology do not matter, but rather, that people tend to vote based on one or two issues that are of importance to them. I was using you to make an example. Please do not take what I said and make it sound as if I am some kind of anti-progress heathen.`

Edit: I truly feel that anyone with a strong understanding of the candidates positions on all the issues can not consciously fully support either one.

I support the candidate who I feel will push this country forward in a positive direction towards the advancement of its citizens and this planet as a whole. No candidate is perfect, no candidate will be able to address every single issue in a way that will make everybody happy. I support the one that, when my great-great-grandchildren read about in their history classes, will see made true progress. The one that will FINALLY take this country into the new century and have a hand in setting it in the direction of entering the centuries yet to come.

alright. I stand corrected.

No you don't. You were right on. Don't let these halfwits convince you otherwise. You have a handful of people who don't understand the most basic of economic principles trying to school you on economics. Hold your ground and back up your beliefs. That's what debate is for.

I hope for everyone's sake that that person is chosen. Only the next four years will tell. unfortunately decisions are linear so once one is made, regardless of the outcome, no one can accurately say if the alternative would have been better. We will just have to wait and see.

Wow first off go get fucked you douche bag. YOU DON'T KNOW A MOTHER FUCKING THING ABOUT MY FAMILY. IF I HAD A GUN I WOULD HAVE PULLED THE TRIGGER 3 TIMES COCKSMOKER.
THEY'RE NOT LAZY FOR SHIT. My dad has broken his back metaphorically and literally for the last 50 years and contiues to do so. You call plant after plant being shut down by that senile son of a bitch lazy? My dad worked in the mills for 40 years and has been living on his own since the age of 16. So don't you go running your ignorant fucking mouth to me. Stolen pension and no retirement doesn't sound too fuckin lazy to me. YOU SIR ARE THE ONE THAT HAS NO FUCKING CLUE HOW THE WORLD WORKS. You think that everything works out perfect? That the government always does whats best? WRONG MOTHA FUCKA!!! My family went off to work in the steel mill, which was a booming industry. Now a man that once drove a 68 coupe deville and owned a knucklehead that would put any jap bike you throw at it to shame walks everywhere he has to go because he can't afford a car, and lives in a shamly $400/month apartment because his company shut down and left him with no pension and nothing to fall back on when for thirty years he was planning on retiring at the age of 48. You sir, know nothing of what happened in an industrialized city. ID LIKE TO SEE YOUR DUMB ASS DROPPED ON THE LOWER EAST SIDE OF MY CITY AND SEE HOW MANY STEPS YOU TAKE PROCLAIMING THAT EVERYONE THAT WORKED IN THE MILLS WERE LAZY PEICES OF SHIT. let me tell you, you wouldn't last 3.

Politics are like religion, no one is right or wrong, wars are fought because of or for and no one....ever... wins.

I sincerely apologize for being rash. I really didn't mean it. I do however hold my ground. I am very familiar with post-steel Ohio and West Virginia. I know that there were two types of people: Those that moved on when the mills shut down (Youngtown, Steubenville, Weirton, etc.), and those that continue to whine about the way it used to be.

Nobody is responsible for you but you. Shit happens. People die, get cancer, lose their jobs, lose limbs, get in car accidents, get AIDS. Businesses FAIL. It is inevitable. People always assume that because a business has been successful for thirty years, that they will be successful for another thirty. The people who absorbed the hit of the decline of the U.S. steel industry were those who were smart, adaptive, and didn't sit on their asses whining about the way it used to be. The way it used to be is over.

Families placed their entire lives into one mill. It's sad, but it was also a mistake. If you consider a job as you do an investment, it is foolish to invest all your available capital in one security and hope for the best.

I work with and deal with people who worked in Steel mills on a daily basis. Why aren't they whining about the way it used to be? They moved on, adapted (learned to drive trucks, be machinists, electricians, etc.), and are doing fine. They aren't sitting around cursing business and government and blaming everyone else for their problems.

My apologies for my poorly chosen words. I've heard all sides of this issue though and in the end, we are responsible for how our lives turn out. We are in control. If you think that anyone else is responsible for how your life turns out then you acknowledge that you are NOT in control.

Yeah, its cool man, dont worry about it. I understand and respect your opinion. Thanks for the apology.

Do I think it's socialistic? Abso-fucking-lutely. I personally would prefer a flat tax. But what happens then? The rich STILL pay more. While fair in every sense of a tax system, it is unfair to those who truly broke there back and earned there money. There is no "right" answer. The point I was attempting to make was that an economy needs its people to spend money to improve it. What group of people will spend extra money if they have it?

The lower class will use it to pay off debt or simply use it for general expenses until it is gone.

The upper class already has money. Extra money will not prompt them to investing it in the economy. Trickle down works great in theory, not in practice.

The middle class are people with generally low debt(minus a mortgage, car). Extra money will prompt them to go out more, buy a new car, hell, maybe even open their own business. Again, as before this is my "theory". It has yet to be put in practice. No one knows if this will happen or if they will in fact hoard it for the next fall, but there is really only one way to figure it out.
As far as most super wealthy not earning their money, that is a nice myth perpetuated by the always whining always down trodden middle class suckers. I made a poor generalization. But you better believe the new generation's (Gen-Me) feelings toward the world came from kids who get everything from mom and dad and don't know the meaning of the word earn. They want it. Don't care what it takes to earn it, they want it and dad will buy it if I complain enough.

I do still believe that a man can make himself a millionaire/billionaire and believe that it happens everyday. Hell, Trump has done it a few separate times.

But this is by no means a system where you can go to work 9-5, everyday, and expect to be wealthy. To put it in Ebonics, you need to make moves. You need your side projects, you need multiple well thought out plans. You need to take the risk of losing it all to climb another rung on the ladder. And I think a little extra coin in a few people's pockets will prompt this affect for many people.

I myself am off this school. Money shouldn't be lazy sitting in a bank. It should be out in the world making friends for me. May I lose it all? Yes. But that's why it's called a risk. You can't lose what you don't put in the middle. But you can't win much either.

While fair in every sense of a tax system, it is unfair to those who truly broke there back and earned there money.

How is it unfair? Just because you make less and engage in physical labor, should you be privy to special treatment?

The lower class will use it to pay off debt or simply use it for general expenses until it is gone.
Extra money will not prompt them to investing it in the economy. Trickle down works great in theory, not in practice.

There are very few if any wealthy people who have money that just sits and does nothing. It is somewhere earning some kind of interest in which case, it is invested in the "economy". Money flows in a million different directions and benefits can be reaped as a result of decisions made 12 steps before.

The middle class are people with generally low debt(minus a mortgage, car).

Absolutely not. The "middle class" is the largest debt carrying group in the nation. Most middle class people live their entire lives in debt. Poor people can not get credit and wealthy people only need it to play games. The middle class is so heavily bogged down by consumer debt, it is obscene. Anyway, people that are historically bad with money will always be bad with money. A tax cut or a hand out will just go to buy a bunch of HD plasmas, motorcycles, and other stupid shit that doesn't qualify as a viable investment.

But this is by no means a system where you can go to work 9-5, everyday, and expect to be wealthy. To put it in Ebonics, you need to make moves. You need your side projects, you need multiple well thought out plans. You need to take the risk of losing it all to climb another rung on the ladder.

You are absolutely correct.

For sure. Although, a well developed portfolio will surely include some type of ultra secure savings to balance out the risk that you plan on taking;)

The reason why the wealthy are wealthy, not counting those with silver spoons, is because they shop with middle class sensibilities. They don't spend as opulently as they did in the '80s.
But coke habits and Miami Vive suits are soo appealing...

How is it unfair? Just because you make less and engage in physical labor, should you be privy to special treatment?
I meant it's unfair to the rich. "Breaking your back" in this sense means truly working hard for the extra, whether it be white collar, blue collar, or no collar work. Why make 500 million this year instead of 50 million? It's more than I need and the government will just take a bigger bite out of my ass.

This is so true. The cheapest people I have ever met are the wealthiest people. They spend extravagantly on a few things like cars, houses, and their kids' weddings. Otherwise, they are very frugal. When you see someone decked out in designer shit, nice car, etc. it is probably a ruse, funded by more consumer debt.

Gotcha. I understand that sentiment, although, your yearly net will effectively be greater and, as B mentioned earlier, most wealthy people find great creative ways to evade taxes. Investments, private corporations, etc. all have loopholes that can be taken advantage of.

Even something as simple as claiming yourself as an exemption is something a lot of people do not do. I for many years did not, thinking that I would get a larger refund at year end. Whether you do or not is not the point. Why should I let the government take any more of my money than the absolute minimum? They are not paying me interest on it. One of my accounting professors called it a "loser's savings account":D
