    Ok, got a b16, installing Crower rods on stock crankshaft. I know how to read the markings on the crankshaft and the rods to get the correct color bearing for putting it back together, but my new crower rods don't have numbers on them that really correspond to what I need to make my bearing selection. the crower rods have these markings: W1 W2 W3 W4, this marking is on the rod and the cap, when reading markings for bearing selection you take the letter off the crankshaft and the number off the rod and use a chart in haynes or chilton or whatever to get the color you need. it doesn't make sense to me tho mainly due to the fact that the rods have numbers that are sequential, and obviously they weren't made by honda, So, what should I do? Just go with ACL's? that kinda puts a damper on my engine build, I wanted to get this thing installed this weekend. Should I contact crower?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Call Crower? They should have some kind of correlation between the rods and Honda's.

    If you know what color the rod bearings were in the first place...... Use them and some plastigage to see what your clearances are. If they are within spec when using the old bearings just get new ones of that color. If they are not within specs you can use this chart to calculate which bearing will give you the right clearances

    Here is a chart of Honda B series bearing thickness by color. To calculate actual bearing clearance, use the following formula:
    BC = IDBT - ODC - (2 x BT)
    BC = bearing clearance
    IDBT = inside diameter of bearing tunnel (housing bore)
    ODC = outside diameter of crank journal
    BT = bearing thickness
    Main Bearing thickness by color
    Blue 2.013-2.010 mm 0.0793”- 0.0791”
    Black 2.010-2.007 mm 0.0791”- 0.0790”
    Brown 2.007-2.004 mm 0.0790”- 0.0789”
    Green 2.004-2.001 mm 0.0789”- 0.0788”
    Yellow 2.001-1.998 mm 0.0788”- 0.0787”
