Is it legal to get a uhaul with a towing thing that lifts that cars wheels totally off the ground and not have plates or insurance or registration?

i thought the u-haul trailers only lifted 2 wheels off the ground? if you can get the car completely off the ground, you can tow it without registering it.

This thread has suddenly come into a new meaning for me. I need to know WHAT the costs would actually be as I CANNOT drive two cars at once.

What would the shipping be from NE Indiana to Dallas area Texas for a car carrier???

Don't ask.

Don't you have a friend that can go along and help drive the second car back? It's ONLY 80 miles.

no no no I'm not the thread starter...but I need some answers.

NE Indiana to Dallas is not a mere 80 miles...that won't even get me from Fort Wayne to Indianapolis...

Sorry, my bad. Just hit the yellow pages and make some phone calls. Is the car drivable? What about a Greyhound bus up to drive it back?

It's drivable, but it's an 11 year old Escort that's been sittin around for the past two months. I don't want to drive it to Texas with it pulling to the left. I dunno if hte suspension would hold out.

greyhound bus is time consuming, and if this goes through, which it prolly will now...I don't think I'll have time to come back for it. which will piss TPP off. :)

My insurance told me that whenever I buy a car, I have 30 days and it is automatically covered. It doesn't have to be registered or anything. If you do get pulled over, just tell the cop that you just bought it and your driving it home and getting it registered first thing tomorrow and tell them you've notified your insurance about this car.
