my car just got back from the place i bought it from. they worked on it for 2 weeks because it was burning a ton of oil.i drove it for 2 days. 300 miles and now there is no oil on the dipstick. my motor is toast. what should i do. shops around here say 1800 to rebuild but i could get a used one with tranny for a little more than that. someone please help. any ideas on how to cut down on a rebuild cost?

    thanks in advance

I would check around on this site and other forums for people selling b16 or b18b or b18c1 becasue alot of times you can find them really cheap. i have seen a b16 rebuilt with low ass mileage without tranny go for $1000. not saying that it is common but it may be the cheaper route because you can still use your tranny as long as it is still good.
