BLUE SMOKE???

hey all just needed some advice my car is throwing out blue smoke from the exhaust also oil is disappearing so im needing to refill every other month.
what could it be?
( i have a feeling its the piston rings) anybody experienced anything similar??

yes, blue smoke = burning oil

do a leak down test to find where the problem is coming from

blue = oil
white = anitfreeze
black = gas


id say what b16 said, do a check and see where its commin from, or run thicker oil. In my car i was runnin 5w30 and it smoked, so i went to 15w40 and it doesnt anymore...

sorry for being a noob but whats a leak down test.???
also instead i was using 15w40 ive been using 10w40 could that b the problem. <_<

maybe...isnt 15w for trucks? i only use 10 or 5w

^^^ Isn't your problem. You could have bad valve seals or a bad piston ring. Do a compression test and see if any of your cylinders don't have compressoin.
